No reason why self tappers and a blob of locktight would be fine, I'm using rivets but its personal preference.

Hi jack slightly.

I orderd some 4.8mm p clips, they seem a little loose not clamping the brake pipe nothing bad I just expected them to be a nice tight snug fit, is this normal or should I order some more a different size. THe brake pipe is the standard 3/16? copper stuff i had a spare roll in my garage.

The ones that I got (maplin) have 3/16 printed on them. My pipes were loose enough to slide backwards and forwards. Once you have a few bends/kinks in the pipe it won't move.

btw 3/16 is the correct size for the pipes and m10x1mm unions 25mm long.

I have used little bits of push bike inner tube to take up the gaps
