Default Big boo boo!

As some of you have probably read in my other post i have been trying to get my rev counter working. Aswell as this, a fuel pressure gauge i bought has been giving me some chew It turned out that the sender was faulty and had random resistance whenever it felt like it

So late last night, i removed the sender and guage and put them back into the packaging to return today.

Then after finishing work today i was fiddling with the rev counter again and wired it up and turned on the engine........................... with no oil pressure switch in

At least i know its making good pressure anyway

Only ran it for about 10secs before i realised that about 2 litres of oil had pumped out!!!!!!!

Luckily no harm done just a mess for me to clean up

Its the 3rd "interesting" moment ive had in my garage since starting my roadster build

The 2nd was when i finished welding a wishbone and lifted up my welding screen to find the bin on fire!

The 1st was when i got it running on edis and turned it off and it kept running, even after i disconnected the battery!

And now this one!

Hope it cheers someone up laughing at my expense

I have that t-shirt.

We put a scrapyard oil guage on a m8's mini back in the early 90's .. And forgot the sender. That jetted a nice stream of crude all over his mum and dads nice clean driveway

And 5 years ago I had been doing some work on our MK1 golf. I got in to check it ran ok. It started nicely. And then I got all confused as the world went dark and the windscreen became dark. The oil line from the guage had split That took a bit of washing down.

TT
