Default polo mk2 radiator

Hi all
I have bought a 2nd hand mk2 polo radiator. I am not sure of the best way to mount it. I saw a pic posted by Gus and it looks like I have to fabricate mounting brackets for the top. It's not clear how the bottom of the radiator is secured. Also Ronnie said he had mounted his polo radiator, it would be good if some pics could be posted of this. I also bought a 2nd hand nosecone from e-bay it looks as if its the one from GTS. Also while I'm here what fan would be suitable?
Thanks in advance for any help

Bill,

Attached is a picture of how mine & Gus's radiators are mounted.
The top bracket picks up with a lug on the radiator that is tapped M6.
The bottom mounting is a simple plate with a hole drilled in it and a grommet pushed in. The leg of the radiator then pushes into the grommet.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Dave

Thumbs down

Just had another look at my radiator, it doesn't have the mounting leg at the bottom. I suppose I could make something up and bond it on.
S**t if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all

Hi Bill

I don't have a decent photo to hand but my polo rad is mounted more or less the same as Gus's

If it is one of the lower lugs that is missing you could make up some sort of L bracket & weld it to the lower front frame.
Then try & pick up on one of the lower screw mounts on the front of the rad
