Well done on getting to this stage, a great milestone of the build

I can,t help with regard using the Pinto ( I used the 1.8CVH engine ), did you make your own engine mounts? As they tend to dictate the height that the engine sits in the chassis.

There are a few members using the Pinto, but have a look at Ash G,s build photos as he used the Pinto originally ( lots of photos of his build in his signature ), might help in some way to clarify things .

cheers
andy

as yet the mounts are not made but the engine is sitting level with the bottom of the gearbox and chassis but still it is above the bonnet, Had a look at the pics you mentioned but none that i could see where the pinto had been used maybe they have been removed, will have another look tomorrow oh mean today later

I presume you are using the Type9 gearbox? if so then the bottom of my bell housing sits 25mm BELOW the bottom rail of the chassis, I think a few ( probably most ) builds are like this , maybe if you lowered the engine/box by 25mm it would solve the height problem for the bonnet?

Sorry I don,t know for sure as I didn,t use the Pinto.

cheers

Just a thought....& please forgive me if I,m asking an obvious question

Have you removed the center section of BR10 between U7 & U8 ? ( as per the drawing on page 41 Fig 4.12)

cheers
