![]() I've got to the point where I need to position my battery so that I can put the cabling in. I've got a couple of sierra sized batteries that a slightly too large to sit in the saturn scuttle tray.
If I bought a new battery what would be best to go for? Or leave it for the minute and just bodge the cables untill I'm nearly finished, then tidy them up? Do a lot of people end up putting them in the passenger foot well (missus is only 5ft so wont remove her leg room)? Also if anyone has some pics of the battery/ cabling to started I would be very greatful |

![]() I,ve fitted a standard Sierra sized battery onto the Saturn bulkhead/ scuttle......as you have found....the standard size battery doesn,t sit into the moulded shape on the bulkhead,
BUT If you cut part of the forward INNER face of the moulding the battery does actually "Slot" into the recess, along with a securing strap this helps to totally hold the battery in position. Once the battery is in position you can,t see the bit that was cut away on the inner face of the moulding ![]() I,ll try & find a photo for you . Forgot to mention.......You will probably find that you,ll end up endlessly tidying up the wiring thru the course of the build, I know I was always adjusting this n that until the build was totally finished so left the final "tidy up" of the wiring till the very end ( In the engine bay I mean ) cheers andy Last edited by HandyAndy : 10th March 2012 at 09:14 PM. |

![]() I was thinking about doing that while I was writing the post. Would save me some money at the mo as I think I've got about 3 batterys kicking about. 1 must be good

![]() This is the best photo of my battery position, please excuse the dangling wires ( everything was disconnected whilst doing the engine swap ), as you can just see.....the standard battery DOES fit into the moulded recess on the bulkhead scuttle .
![]() hope this helps cheers andy |

![]() I had a little look tonight when I got home from work and ended trimming the front section of the scuttle but also had to trim the rear plastic bit off the battery.
Now I have to get the thing to charge as it was showing about 3v. ![]() ![]() |
