Default CVH Cooling Pipes

The metal pipe that bolts to the front of the engine direct fromt the waterpump.
It goes backwards then does a 90 bend then pretty much staight.

Its currently too long to get a 90 bend on it to redirect it to the front of the car.
What have other people done. Cut it down (but the diameter opens up towards teh end and it has a smaller bore take off so I'd loose that to) or cut the end off, chop a bit out the middle then weld the end back on again.

Or bend it round?
