Hi Tony

I guess a lot will depend on the original source of the engine .... Escort or Mondeo

Have had another look at the QH catalogue, here is some more info

Escort Mk5 1.8 16v (1991/1994 )

Friction plate diameter 220mm .... Input shaft 19mm X 17 splines ( Won't fit the type 9 gearbox ).

Some Escort Mk5's were fitted with the MTX75 gearbox ( XR3i & RS !!?? )
These were fitted with the following size friction plate .... Plate diameter 240mm .... Input shaft 25.4 X 23 splines ( Will fit the type 9 gearbox )

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Mondeo Mk1 1.6/1.8 16v ( 1993/1996

Friction plate diameter 220mm .... Input shaft 25.4 X 23 spline ( Will fit the type 9 gearbox )

If your engine came from a Mk1 Mondeo you'll be fine & all you will need to source is a CCT133 release bearing + crankshaft spiggot bearing.

If your engine came out of a standard Mk5 Escort 1.8 16v ( Like mine ) you will then have to source a suitable friction plate in addition to the 2 bearings

I hope that is of some help Tony
