If I were you I would treat your project as a savings account. Sell what you need to when you have to. If you end up having to claim benefits you can be sure that they'll make sure your wallet is empty before they give you anything! but car parts are hidden and you use them when you need to.

Tis a sad day indeed, too many roadster builders have decided to sell up recently . FWIW I agree with Trif, unless you really need the money now or you don't have the space to store it all anymore I'd just put it to one side until things improve and you can start up again. I reckon it'd be easier to restart an existing project than to start again from scratch.

All the best for the future, I'm sure summat will turn up for you. Just because you are selling up/putting your project on hold doesn't mean you can't keep on looking in here .

thanks for the well wishes guys, and for the offers iv recieved regarding buying the bits from me. It seems as with all things, its not worth anywhere near what iv spent in terms of both money and time/effort spent. So iv decided to hold onto it for now and if things dont pick up after christmas then il sell. I called every company i know of this morning to see if there were any jobs going but nowt, as a last resort i called the company i left last year (not on the best of terms with ) and they offered me a position as contracts manager! The position wont be available until march though, i just hope i can find something in the meantime, at least il be able to keep the build if i can, and then carry on when i start the new job, itll be alot better pay aswell!

Just goes to show, you never know whats around the corner.

that is great news ! are there any agencies local ? might tide you over till march theres always work if you want it but alot of its not the most rewarding but it still pays the bills,

glad youve decided to hang on would be a shame to have to sell up

Good news from the previous employer. It may not be what you want but many super markets will take on staff at the moment for shelf stacking duties etc. Yes its crap work and shite money but its better than the dole q and you can just shelve the car till you ca nafford it better.
