![]() Mazda stuck the battery in the boot in the MX5 to even out the weight distribution.
I'd like to think they know a thing or two about auto electrics ![]() It'd be best to have it as close as possible to the starter motor to avoid losing a load of volts accross the wire, but if you've got a decent chunky cable it shouldn't matter too much. |

![]() what on earth do you need such a big battery for? the battery is only used to start the engine... once the engine is running the alternator provides the power

![]() My Dutton has the battery in the passenger footwell, it keeps the leads short and the battery as low as possible.

![]() The battery is in the back in mine, really need as much weight over the back as possible to aid traction.
probably a good idea to section it off from the fuel tank to keep MR IVA happy. possible even a slab or 2. I had a v6 capri and needed to have a slab in the boot to stop it kicking out as much. Also thinking that the dry sump oil tank and windscreen washer bottle will be in the back. its gonna be tight enough in the engine bay as it is. (Yes i'm fitting a windscreen as i want to fit some sort of hood so it can be used all year round) |
