I'd like to think they know a thing or two about auto electrics
As I said I know nothing about auto electrics

And thinking about it ....my daily driver( Bmw 5 series) has its battery under the rear seat which I suppose was something to do with weight distribution, cos its HUGE

cheers

Its for this very reason i think it needs to go in the back. I need a 700amp battery and dont really want to mount it so high on the car. Also battery and under bonnet heat are not best mates.

what on earth do you need such a big battery for? the battery is only used to start the engine... once the engine is running the alternator provides the power

My Dutton has the battery in the passenger footwell, it keeps the leads short and the battery as low as possible.

Indeed they are sports cars at the end of the day so it's all about handling, balance and performance

The battery is in the back in mine, really need as much weight over the back as possible to aid traction.

probably a good idea to section it off from the fuel tank to keep MR IVA happy.

possible even a slab or 2.
I had a v6 capri and needed to have a slab in the boot to stop it kicking out as much.

Also thinking that the dry sump oil tank and windscreen washer bottle will be in the back. its gonna be tight enough in the engine bay as it is.
(Yes i'm fitting a windscreen as i want to fit some sort of hood so it can be used all year round)

Passenger side of engine bay is where I put the dry battery on the Teamtrain /Saturn race car and wrapped the exhaust, current drop is the problem with long cables, look in the boot of a 320 diesel BMW at the battery lead and its like a fire hose.
