![]() If you are tall and want/need to be low in the car then flat bar, I used 6mm and once the runners are bolted through the bar and floor its rock solid
Box section would be fine if you aint that tall and need a bit of help seeing over the scuttle! Dont forget the thickness of the seat base when allowing for your final seat height position, mines on 6mm bar, lowest profile runners I could find and a fibreglass seat, this adds up to a couple of inches with the seat thickness taken into account |

![]() I simply welded angle iron (25 x 25 x 4mm) beams between the outer and inner chassis rail and also to the steel (1.6mm) floor and is immensely strong and solid. Drilled seat rail holes through and fit nut on bottom of angle beam.
Best part is is also flash with the chassis rails and not raised and add more strength/rigidity to chassis. See picture below. ![]() Last edited by Wynand : 12th February 2012 at 07:11 AM. Reason: Picture added |

![]() interesting guys... Lots of options. Well i really want my ones on rails but would be alot less hastle to just have one bolt. The way i see it i will have to bolt rails to chassis then seat to rails or seat to rails then rails to chassis. Both will be a pain but at a guess bolting the rails to chassis once seat is attached would be better. Alternativly bolting the seat to chassis is easy but no room to change.....

![]() i was chatting to my local iva man about mounting seats and belts and he was saying if the seat is movable (on runners) postion then the bottom seatbelts mounts need to rotate if mounted onto chassis to ajust angle to seat postion.
if the seat is fixed the belt mounts dont need to rotate. so thay dont need to ajust. |
