My understanding is that all early Zetecs were without PATS. Definitely Mondeo of the 1993 model year. Having a pre-1995 engine is useful in the sense of exhaust emissions, too. Later ones practically need a catcon to pass the emissions test.

I didn't know it was possible to remove the PATS system but that would be handy, I was also thinking it would be useful to keep as would count as a security device for SVA.

The problem with PATS is that it's not very well documented, but people say that it can be disabled with just a couple of wires.
