I'm guessing dead battery if it's the same one I used.
Mine died around this time last year :(

Here's a good solution to diagnosing a faulty mx5 drivetrain.

Just but I managed to flatten the Van battery last week and so finally got round to getting a new battery charger. Charged up the van overnight then charged up the Super7 the next day. Started first time! So just a flat battery from lack of use. Phew!

I had nitrous on my v8 capri. I'd hate to think what its like on a light car like ours. Please do get a progressive controller otherwise you'll quickly overwhelm what grip we have.

That's the plan! :D
I'll start with a 50 shot and fit the lsd diff I have!

Does a turbo not sound more appealing? The power your engine will make with 50+ will feel good, probably like the right amount of power and I can imagine that once used to it you'll want it there all the time. You can tune it to behave in a more consistent and controllable way as well thus giving better drivability. A bottle of gas is not cheap either!

Hi Chris, would you be able to tell me the size of the mesh needed to cover the larger rad opening in your nose cone please?

I've mounted the new BIG rad in the same position for now but I have worked out I can fit it a' la' Stot in the future. I've decided to skip the coolant reroute for now to see how the car and temps behave.

Got my header tank mounted high and central as possible, all shiny and new.

And finally got all the plumbing sorted, I've run the filler to the front hose to prevent any air locks and the pressure relief hose runs down with the speedo cable to under the gearbox. So if I ever do overheat no water will enter or go near the electrics which was an issue with the vw polo header tank.

I'm BACK!!! yeah it defo needs the coolant reroute. Overheats easily with high rev driving. glad I wrotee this down!

Good to see you back Chris - I've often wondered what happened to your car - and you. I had no issues at all with my Polo/Golf radiator and overheating. The fan only ever cut in idling in traffic. My 2nd rad had an 8mm outlet at the top of the radiator (polo) whereas the first one hadn't (golf). Both were the wider core ones.
Sadly the car is no more after aquaplanning in very heavy rain :(

I’ve topped up the oil and water and driven it to work and gym the last two days and it’s been fine? 🤷*♂️ Car just been out on the back burner after I snapped the diff. It’s now got a 1.8 diff with and LSD fitted its changed the car quite a bit. Takes off like a stab rat now and just seem to want to get you down the road ASAP! Fast corners are faster etc. Gives confidence, open diff a bit of a fishtailer.
Sorry to hear about your car hope no one got hurt. Wet roads terrify me in this thing. 😬
